Tip: Are you going to travel by plane? Then it is recommended – or even required – to bring with you one or more extra batteries on board.
The battery is indispensable for a portable oxygen concentrator. Thanks to the battery you are free to go wherever you want.
Despite the battery's great autonomy, there are situations where a second battery might come in handy, such as during a long-haul flight. For this you have two options: the standard 8 cell battery (BA-500), or a double 16 cell battery (BA-516). This 8 cell battery is lighter, but it has a shorter run time. Also keep in mind that every higher oxygen setting will decrease your battery run time.
| Flow setting | Battery run time (hours:minutes) | |
| Setting 1.0 | 6:35 (G5) vs 6:15 (Rove 6) | |
| Setting 2.0 | 5:03 | |
| Setting 3.0 | 3:27 | |
| Setting 4.0 | 2:25 | |
| Setting 5.0 | 1:51 | |
| Setting 6.0 | 1:26 |
| Battery | Charging time | Run time | Weight | |||
| 8 cell (BA-500) | +/- 3 hours | up to 6.5 hours | 0.5 kg | |||
| 16 cell (BA-516) | +/- 6 hours | up to 13 hours | 0.99 kg |
Do you want to charge a spare battery separately from your concentrator? Then you need the Inogen One G5 / Rove 6 external battery charger. Fast and easy!
