For whom is the DeVilbiss VacuAide suitable?

For home healthcare teams and patients that need to have fluids removed from the airway or respiratory support system or that need to have infectious materials removed from wounds.

Easy

The VacuAide QSU is easy to operate thanks to the conveniently placed flow regulator knob. Connect the pump to a power source or use the internal battery, power it on and select the desired level of vacuum.

Powerful

The VacuAide creates a powerful vacuum and can be used for newborns, children and adults thanks to the adjustable vacuum. The vacuum can be adjusted from 50 to 550 mmHg with a flow of 27 liters per minute, therefore meeting the ISO 10079-1:2009 standard. This brings quick relief to the patient.

The AARC (American Association for Respiratory Care) advises the following pressures:

• Neonates: 60 - 80 mmHg
• Infants: 80 - 100 mmHg
• Children: 100 - 120 mmHg
• Adults: 100 - 150 mmHg

A negative pressure of higher than 150 mmHg is not recommended by the manufacturer as it could cause trauma.

Hygiene and maintenance 

The container has an innovative design with integrated bacterial filter to protect the pump. Through this design an accurate flow delivery is guaranteed. The bacterial filter has to be replaced every two months or when is has become wet. A floater in the container prevents overflow.

The pump itself can be cleaned with a clean cloth and a disinfectant.
