This sterile, isotonic saline solution (NaCl 0.9%) is used for the following:

• To moisten the upper and lower respiratory tract as a treatment for cold-like symptons, like coughin and nasal congestion. This can be done by the use of an electric jet, ultrasonic, or membrane nebuliser.
• To dilute medications for inhalation. Please make sure that the medication must have been designed for this administration form.

Application

• Open the ampoule.
• To dilute medication, make sure to follow the appropriate instructions for use.
• Fill the nebuliser as directed in the instructions for use of the nebuliser.
• Inhale as described in the instructions for use of the inhalation device you are using.

The duration of an inhalation session should never exceed 20 minutes for 3 ml of NaCl 0.9%. This saline solution is suitable for everyone; it can be used by both infants and adults.
