For whom is the OSCIMED SomnoFit Mandibular Advancement Device suitable?
For adults who snore or have mild obstructive sleep apnea and are looking for an oral appliance they can mould to fit their teeth themselves. Do not use the appliance if you wear removable full or partial dentures, grind your teeth or have jaw joint pain. Loose or unstable teeth and fewer than ten teeth in the upper or lower jaw are also contraindications. Always read the full instructions for use before using the appliance.
More room to breathe
During sleep, the tongue can fall backwards and narrow the upper airway. The OSCIMED SomnoFit Mandibular Advancement Device is a proven medical device that moves the lower jaw forwards by a few millimetres, creating more space behind the tongue and keeping the upper airway open. This may reduce snoring and mild obstructive sleep apnea.

A personalised fit you create yourself
The appliance consists of 2 mouthpieces: one for the upper jaw and one for the lower jaw. Before first use, heat them in water and mould them to your teeth by biting down on them, following the steps in the instructions. If necessary, you can repeat the moulding process 2 or 3 times. The slim, flexible design takes up less space than the classic SomnoFit model and allows you to speak while wearing the appliance. The oral appliance is BPA free and latex free.
8 settings to adjust your appliance
A single strap connects the upper and lower mouthpieces and determines how far forwards the lower jaw is held. You receive 8 numbered straps of different lengths. For the first few nights, the manufacturer recommends strap number 4. Follow the instructions for use when making further adjustments. Before purchasing, also check the size guide to determine which SomnoFit version you need: SomnoFit-S is intended for smaller and medium-sized jaws (S/M/L), while SomnoFit-B is suitable for larger jaws (XL/XXL).

Easy to use and maintain
It is normal to need a few nights to get used to the oral appliance. If necessary, start by wearing it for a few hours per night and gradually increase the wearing time. Putting the appliance in about an hour before bedtime may help you get used to it. The oral appliance can be worn every night. Clean it daily according to the instructions for use. Its lifespan depends on factors including maintenance and mechanical stress. Replace it after no more than 18 months of use, or sooner if it shows signs of wear.
